Where Trees and Paving Can CoExist!
Soil bioengineering is a discipline of civil engineering. It pursues technological, ecological, economic as well as design goals and seeks to achieve these primarily by making use of natural or living materials, i.e. rocks, clay, sand, seeds, plants and plant communities. The core idea is that nature, imaginative by necessity, has already solved many of the problems we are grappling with. Animals, plants, and microbes are the consummate engineers. They have found what works, what is appropriate, and most important, what lasts here on Earth.
Earthlite™ BioStructure™ Soil Blend is a custom blended structural soil mix with the addition of PermaMatrix® BSP Foundation and Earthlite™ Stormwater Filter Media. Primarily used as a structural soil for maintaining structural integrity on sidewalks and roadways while providing necessary components for bioremediation, and sustainable tree growth. BioStructure™ provides everything needed to grow a sustainable plant community that can filter out toxins in stormwater. BioStructure™ is an engineered blend of structural ¾” to 1 ½” rock, high clay content soil, natural porous aggregate, Earthlite™ Stormwater Filter Media, combined with PermaMatrix® BSP Foundation that increases the microbiological organics of the soil. It is a superior structural and growing medium for both native and non-native plants. Earthlite™ BioStructure™ Soil Mix is the complete package with everything needed to grow and sustain large urban street trees.
