Most systems reporting results are passive / gravity fed with varying amounts of contact time and media.  All systems were designed site specific for their operations.

2/24/17 – New RainClear CSF RCY installed on 11/30/2016 and tested on 2/24/2017 (3 months) Pre Treatment Test showed 0.346 mg/L down to ND.

1/31/17  –  New Install in the Middle of May, 2016, RainClear CSF RCY Removal Rate going strong eight months later.  From 2.2 mg/l to  0.0065 mg/L.  That’s over a 99% removal rate!!

The average RainClear CSF RCY (275 Gallon Recycled Tote) Contains about 3/4 cubic yard of EarthLite™ Stormwater Filter Media.

11/09/16 – Continued Results from two RainClear CSF installed in December 2015:

#1 0.101 mg/L to 0.01582 mg/L – 85% removal

#2  0.0705 mg/L to 0.00283 mg/L – 60% removal

10/04/16  –  60% Removal  from 4.32 mg/l to  1.73 mg/L in one and the second with 99.9% Removal from 0.533 mg/L to NonDetect!  These were two new RainClear CSF RCY that were installed earlier in the month and only had one or two rain events prior to this test.

That’s a great reduction in one pass of less than 3/4 cy of media!

6/10/16  –  96% Removal  from 3.51 mg/l to  0.128 mg/L.  At the same time taking Total Zinc down from 1.88 mg/L to 0.174 mg/L.  All by replacing the box/system manufactures media with EarthLite™ Stormwater Filter Media as the media in an existing system!

That’s a reduction of over 3.382 mg/L in one pass of less than 3/4 cy of media!!!

Zinc Field Results

Total Zinc removal has been field tested since 2010 in the Portland/Vancouver area. Field tests have resulted in as low as 46% reduction with as high as 98%. Examples of Reduction:

 

  • 1.4 mg/L reduced to .12 mg/L in April 2011
  • 4.8 mg/L reduced to .13 mg/L in March 2011
  • 3.67 mg/L reduced to .402 mg/L in January 2011
  • 1.7 mg/L reduced to .26 mg/L in August 2010
  •  12/27/2010 – 96% removal of Dissolved Zinc from .200 mg/L to .0085

Average Reduction of testing between 2010 and 2013 of 79.92%

Copper Field Results

Total Copper has also been field tested in the Portland / Vancouver area since 2010. Early field tests have resulted in as low as 49% reduction with as high as 80%. Examples of Reduction:

  • .053 mg/L reduced to .027 mg/L in May 2011
  • .49 mg/L reduced to .0096 mg/L in December 2010
  • .041 mg/L reduced to .021 mg/L in June 2010
  •  12/27/2010 – 21% removal of Dissolved Copper from .0014 mg/L to .0011
