Benefits of EarthLite™ Stormwater Filter Media
EarthLite™ Stormwater Filter Media has been removing Heavy Metals since 2010.
EarthLite™ Stormwater Filter Media works up to 6 times longer for Zinc removal than 100% biochar.
EarthLite™ Stormwater Filter Media is versatile and easy to utilize on just about any site, existing or new.
One Cubic Yard of EarthLite™ Stormwater Filter Media can treat 11,221 gallons of roof runoff with ∼1,000 ug/L of Zinc to under 120 ug/L. That’s a 5,000 sq. ft. roof with an annual rainfall of 36″ for almost two years!
One Cubic Yard of EarthLite™ Stormwater Filter Media can treat more than 75,000 gallons of roof runoff with ∼120 ug/L of Copper to under 20 ug/L. That’s a 5,000 sq. ft. roof with an annual rainfall of 36″ for more than 12 years!
EarthLite™ Stormwater Filter Media is primarily made of Biochar. Biochar is the result when waste wood is burned at lumber mills. It typically is disposed of in landfills. By utilizing Biochar as the primary ingredient, it helps prevent more waste in landfills and keeps the Stormwater Filter Media very affordable.
• Consistent, dependable
• Physically and chemically inert
• Greater surface area, higher adsorbation
• Hydraulic conductivity allows fast, free drainage
• Ceramic properties reduce material degradation
• High angle of internal friction provides stability and strength
• Reduced weight lowers freight and handling costs
What is Biochar?
Biochar is pyrolized biomass, or biomass that has been burned in the absence of oxygen.
What is Biomass?
Biomass is ANY biological material derived from living, or recently living organisms. It most often refers to plants or plant-based materials.
Not All Biochar is created for stormwater!
